Ingredients
- 1- 3lb can cut green beans, drained reserving 1 cup juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 yellow onion sm diced
- 1 sm cajun smoked ham hock
- 1 lb yellow potatoes, med diced
- 2 tsp Southern Collards seasoning
- 1 tsp bacon grease
- 2 cups unsalted chicken broth
Directions
- In a pot melt bacon grease over medium heat. Add diced onions and garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Add in smoked ham hock and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a quick boil and add in potatoes and green beans + juice.
- Season with 2 tsp Southern Collards Seasoning. Reduce heat to a low cover and simmer for 30 minutes, until potatoes are just fork-tender.
