These green beans lean on two of our blends to do the work that a pot of ham hocks and bouillon cubes usually does. Tiger Life Gourmet's Chicken Soup Seasoning stands in for traditional bouillon, and Southern Collards Seasoning brings that deep, savory backbone you want in a pot of long-cooked greens. Smoked turkey thigh adds richness without the heaviness of pork, and this batch is sized to feed a crowd, so it's built for holidays, potlucks, and Sunday dinners with a full table.

Ingredients
- 4 lbs fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 pound smoked turkey thigh
- 1/2 large onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 cups water or unsalted chicken broth
- 2 to 3 tablespoons Tiger Life Chicken Soup Seasoning
- 2 to 3 tablespoons Tiger Life Gourmet Southern Collards Seasoning
Directions
Place the smoked turkey thigh in a large stockpot and add the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and let cook for about 45 minutes to begin releasing flavor into the liquid.
Add the diced onion, minced garlic, Chicken Soup Seasoning, and Southern Collards Seasoning to the pot. Stir and let simmer for another 15 minutes so the flavors combine.
Remove the turkey thigh and set aside to cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, pull the meat from the bone, shred or chop it, and discard the bone and skin.
Add the trimmed green beans to the pot, making sure they're mostly submerged in the liquid. If you do not have a large stock pot, add green beans in two batches.
Bring back to a simmer, cover, and cook for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender and fully infused with flavor. Return smoked turkey to the pot.
